I am posting this letter without notes, links, and not fully transcribed. I have struggled with many of the words and I wanted to maintain a daily posting. Please feel free to make any suggestions or corrections. Who knows when I'll get back to it.

Dear Robert:-
Your
letter of Feb. 17 came yesterday good times it made always glad to hear from
you. Laurence Lerk is O.K. Giebert asked me who I was writing told him, he said
you sure write often to Robt so he wanted to know where you are and all. I was
amused at your Christmas box from home. big sweater + all, your M. gvt. Hebert sweater to big to to
much yarn I guess. About the diamond. Good investment, I guess. Lydia thought
once of a fur coat – but I told her unless it was a real good one or none at
all. I did think a nice fur neck piece would have been the really best , but
who are we to say. Yes Mrs B. I guess gets very lonesome for Fresno childish to
but it was quiet a change + loss ??? so short a
t???? for her. I hear you M. + the H.R. were to L.A. Martha wrote. I have reservations for the 12. To Fresno. I
may not get away though. It’s so cold + rainy again. Sunny Cal. For you. Yes we
are getting old and my next will be – 60. Getting there aren’t we. I am finishing up a little box for you. I hope
it will go threw(sic) alrite so many things I would like to send but. can’t or
may not keep. So the Springerlie were O.K. we made three batches. Some job. The
last nite you called we were at it. Were tied not ????? or next week. That is
Sat. foks nite and stupid had to stay in L.A
I
have a chance to take care of a nice home for old gentleman, at Redwood City
may take it. but I got to get rid of my ???
before I do and Martha wants me to come to L.A. to We’ll see. Till then
