Dear Robert[1]:-
I
am a bit late with this letter but a reason. I have been on the sick list.
Today Thur. been cold and rainy and here is hoping this is the tail end of a
long cold wet winter. Your last letter sure came threw in a hurry just 12 days.
Am glad you have some entertainment for no doubt you need it for a change. Food must be scarce over there. I hope you get the box I send a week ago[2].
Was not much but it will fill out a bit whenever you get it. I will be anxious
to hear just how long it will take. Sally[3]
thought about six weeks. Hope not. I have not heard from Fresno since I last
wrote however I really am not expecting to. I have reservations[4]
for the 19th to Fresno. I hope I will be able to go I will stay
there for a week or to then to L.A.[5]
but just address your letters here if you write. I may come back here. So until
next week when. I may have more to write when I get to Fresno. Sally & Neil[6]
say hello and with best wishes we throw, Love, Beth[7]

[2]
Numerous first person accounts mentions how well received packages from home
were.
[3]
Unknown reference at this time (14 Mar 1945).
[4]
Most probably, train. Numerous mentions in letters about “train station”, “picking
up at station.” Possible that bus transportation was the reference, but trains
were more likely to need reservation than buses.
[5]
Perhaps to visit Lydia, though no definite answer.
[6]
Perhaps a couple.
