Lyn Yearin to BBR 2 MAR 1943

March 2, 1943[1]

Dear Mrs. Richert,[2]
I want to thank you for the pottery teapot you sent me in the big box I think of as our “Richert shower.” I shall thin of you often as I use it. You’ve no idea what a wonderful time Art and I had with that box – it’s one of my pleasantest memories of our five weeks[3].
Sincerely,
Lyn Yearin[4]
P.S. And thank you too for the jar of jelly you left with mother for me. Is it Pomegranate?
Lyn

[1] Postmarked 3 March 1943
[2] Addressed to : Mrs. Cornelius Richert; 1130 T. Street; Fresno, Calif. Since it had been five years since the death of Cornelius, the letter writer probably made there acquaintance when he was still alive.
[3] The return address is Fresno, suggesting it wasn’t an out of town visit or honeymoon. Perhaps temporary wartime lodging while waiting for a more permanent solution.
[4] Return Address: 523 Lansing; Fresno.
