Dear Mrs. Richert,[2]
I want to
thank you for the pottery teapot you sent me in the big box I think of as our “Richert
shower.” I shall thin of you often as I use it. You’ve no idea what a wonderful
time Art and I had with that box – it’s one of my pleasantest memories of our
five weeks[3].
Sincerely,
Lyn
Yearin[4]
P.S. And thank you too for the jar of jelly you left with
mother for me. Is it Pomegranate?
Lyn

Addressed to : Mrs. Cornelius Richert; 1130 T. Street; Fresno, Calif. Since it
had been five years since the death of Cornelius, the letter writer probably
made there acquaintance when he was still alive.

The return address is Fresno, suggesting it wasn’t an out of town visit or
honeymoon. Perhaps temporary wartime lodging while waiting for a more permanent
solution.
