Lydia to Robert 11 Mar 1945

Dear Bob[1]-
Perhaps we shall get to Santa Monica today at the beach. It’s been so long since we’ve been there – as I would certainly like to get some sun-tan[2].
Did you ever write to Mrs. Gravelie[3] and thanks her for the box she once sent you? She’s never mentioned if you did. Why not write a V-mail. It’s short and I don’t believe they have ever had a V-mail letter. The children would probably be very pleased, especially, 6233 LaMirada, Hollywood is the address. O.K.?
Monday I got your second box off to you. Next week I’ll get another – your T shirts and maybe a book or two. The advantage of dime and 25¢ books is that you need no request to send them. Walter sent your pin-up gals – hope they arrive & are welcomed.
We saw a 15th airforce officer on the streets of Hollywood last night. I was almost tempted to go up and talk to him –
Walter says help – some day he will write to you too-
